POLICIES & SERVICES

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: Alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought inside The Palestra.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Public Address announcements will be used only in the event of emergencies.

ANIMALS: Animals are not permitted inside The Palestra with the exception of service animals with proper documentation for persons with disabilities

BAG SEARCH: The Palestra prohibits bags larger than 12" x 12" x 6" from being brought into the facility. All bags are subject to search upon entry and within the facility. This policy applies to all patrons as well as employees.

BANNERS AND SIGNS: Signs are permitted in The Palestra as long as they do not obstruct the view of other spectators.  Signs on poles or sticks are not permitted.

BOTTLES AND CANS: Bottles and Cans are prohibited inside The Palestra. All spectators are subject to search at the gates, and bottles or cans will need to be disposed of.

CAMERA/VIDEO EQUIPMENT: Video cameras, audio equipment and cameras with professional lenses are permitted if they do not obstruct the view of other spectators, interfere with the game in any way, or will are used to capture audio or video for commercial purposes. NO LASER POINTERS are permitted inside the stadium.

CHILD TICKET POLICY: Children two (2) years of age and under do not need a ticket to enter The Palestra as long as they are seated on a parent or guardian's lap and do not interfere with the safety, comfort, and sight lines of other spectators.

COMPLIMENTS, COMPLAINTS AND COMMENTS: Patrons with questions, comments, criticisms, observations or otherwise may express it in person to any Palestra Event Staff member.

FIRST AID: First aid is available upon request. An ambulance unit is on duty at each event. Notify any Palestra Event Staff member if you are in need of medical assistance.

FOOD/CONCESSIONS: Aramark is the exclusive concessionaire for The Palestra. Concession stands are located around the concourse and offer a wide variety of snacks, hot foods and beverages. Alcohol is not sold in concession stands.

GAME DAY PUBLICATIONS/PROGRAMS: Programs are sold at the merchandise stand in the southwest concourse behind section 218 during all games.

GATE OPENING TIMES: Gates will open 1 hour prior to the first scheduled game each day.

LOST AND FOUND: Lost and Found is located in the Palestra Box Office during the event. Any found items after the event will be turned over to the Franklin Field Box Office in Weightman Hall.

MEDIA AND PUBLIC RELATIONS INQUIRIES: The Ivy League Communication staff will gather and assemble all facts that are of interest to the media. Please direct all questions or comments regarding media related issues to Ivy League Communication personnel. Post-game Press Conferences will be held in the Kozloff Room.

MERCHANDISE: Merchandise is available at the stand in the southwest concourse behind section 218 during all games.  Merchandise is not available on-line.

PARKING: Limited parking is available on-site during special events, while during basketball games, all lots surrounding the Palestra are reserved. A parking fee is charged per car and may vary from event to event, but are typically as follows: Automobile parking $15 for special events.

Other parking can be found at 34th and Chestnut Streets (coming from either 34th Street or Chestnut Street) or South Street and Convention Ave. Rates vary.

PENN POLICE: Penn Police are onsite from the time the doors open until the event has ended. Please contact a Palestra Event Staff member if you need assistance.

RE-ENTRY: Patrons may exit and re-enter with a same day ticket provided they exit at a designated re-entry point and receive an additional ticket stub from a gate attendant. Patrons that leave the facility at any time without obtaining an additional ticket stub from a gate attendant will not be permitted to re-enter the facility with their original ticket.

RESTROOMS: Restrooms for both men and women are located on the concourse of the Palestra.

  • Men’s restrooms are located behind sections 210 and 221. 
  • Women’s restrooms are located behind sections 208 & 219.

SCOREBOARD MESSAGES: No Scoreboard messages are available to the public.

SMOKING: Per Philadelphia city ordinance, smoking is not permitted inside of The Palestra. Smoking is permitted outside the Northwest Entrance gate after the event has begun.

TICKET POLICY: The Ivy League values and supports the enthusiasm of our spectators, however, we ask that you observe a certain "Code of Conduct". Please respect the rights of others surrounding you by acting appropriately. All patrons are responsible for their conduct as well as the conduct of their guests and those around them. Violations may result in removal from the facility.

TICKET SCALPING: The Ivy League denounces the sale of a game ticket at any price higher than the value of the ticket purchased.

UMBRELLAS: Umbrellas are permitted into the Palestra but they are not to be opened at anytime inside the arena.

WEAPONS: Weapons of any kind are not permitted into the Palestra.  Individuals will be screened upon entrance.  Violators will not be permitted entry and will be turned into Penn Police.

  • Palestra front lobby – south side: Reserved seating ticket entrance
  • Southwest Entrance Gates: Reserved seating ticket entrance
  • Palestra back lobby – north side: Student ticket entrance
  • Tse Sports Center Atrium: Player/Coach Guest comp will call entrance
  • Tse Sports Center Rockwell Gymnasium: General will call entrance
  • Tse Sports Center back lobby: Media will call entrance
